Training | The test for the first belt typically comes after the first 2 to 4 months of training. This is of course just an average, since it could take shorter, or longer depending on individual situations. If you ever want to know what you need to work on for a test, just ask your instructors and they will be glad to advise you. |
Stances (Jasay) | Horse riding stance (kemusae), forward stance (chumulsae), and fighting stance should be known and performed on command. |
Blocks (Mahki) | Lower, middle, and upper block should be demonstrated from forward and fighting stance. |
Strikes (Jirugi) | Kemulsae Punching |
Kicks (Chagi) | Front Kick (Ahp Chagi) , Roundhouse Kick (Dolio Chagi), and Step Side Kick should all be able to be performed from a fighting stance. |
Self Defense | Students should be able to defend from side arm grabs when done in a prearranged order. Basic One Step Presparring |
